In Pittsford NY the holiday season is celebrated like no other! The town is always lit up with lights and decorations. Perhaps the best kickoff event to the holiday season is held in Pittsford as well. Candlelight Night brings the Pittsford community together in a fun and festive way! Candlelight night has been a tradition for over forty years!
This year the event will be held on Tuesday, December 5th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Village of Pittsford. According to the website, there will be live music, carolers, visits with Santa, treats with Mrs. Claus, live reindeer, and the lighting of Village Christmas trees. You can even visit with The Grinch! Retailers and restaurants in the town will be open many of them providing treats and specials! There will also be free horse-drawn carriage rides that run from the center of the village and the canal.
Looking for some more adult-centered fun? Don’t miss out on the annual Pittsford Pub Crawl. This will start at 7:30 PM for those who are over the age of twenty-one. You must purchase a wristband at the Chamber tent or at participating venues to attend. This wristband will give you access to discounts on food and drinks at the various restaurants and bars that are participating. All proceeds from the wristband purchase will benefit the Pittsford Food Cupboard.
The weather, as usual, can be unpredictable on candlelight night as there is usually some form of precipitation. Be sure to check the weather and bundle up! Parking can also be tight in the village. There will be a shuttle bus picking up patrons from Sutherland High School and dropping them off in the center of the Village.
Don’t miss out on the kick off of the holiday season! Grab your friends and family and head to Candlelight next Tuesday!
