Pittsford Farms and Dairy and Bakery
It’s fabulous and not just to the locals, but this place actually made the top 10 Best Places to get ice cream in Rochester! Why? We’re glad you asked! From the Democrat and Chronicle:
The business started more than a century ago with fresh milk sold in old-fashioned glass bottles. That tradition, along with made from scratch ice cream and custard is what keeps folks coming back to the family-owned Pittsford Farms Dairy & Bakery. “Those who came to the original dairy as kids are now coming back with their children and grandchildren,” says store manager Agnes Koziol. Customers often reach for best-sellers coconut almond crunch (the store can barely keep this one in production) and landslide (chocolate ice cream, chocolate crunch and peanut butter). Ice cream quarts (in 60 flavors), cakes, pies and custards are also available. The dairy is celebrating its fourth summer in its new spacious building, which features long tables and old giant milk cans that double as seats below glass milk bottle chandeliers. You can also sit outdoors or take a stroll along the nearby canal.
